Elmo Allen Parlor Friends are invited to meet with the family Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a service immediately following at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Bishop Kodiak Smith presiding. Burial will be held At Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN. Mr. Parlor passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from a massive heart attack. He is survived by his father James Parlor with whom Elmo resided and cared for; brother Jay (Beverly Turczi) Parlor; niece Ashley; nephew Michael; best friend Colleen (Conn) Sheets; aunt Clara Williams of Lake Village, IN; many many cousins and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Delores (Douthett) Parlor, older brother Dale Parlor, and younger brother Jamie Parlor. Elmo was a great lover of history, especially the Town of Highland, being a member of one of Highland's first families. He researched fervently; and a few years ago he discovered he had a forum to share his knowledge of Highland's inhabitants on Face Book. He was a member of the Community of Events Board, Historical Society Board. Back in the 70's Elmo received the calling from the Jerry Lewis Telethon and initiated a 24 hour baseball game that he held for five years. Elmo was an avid Cub's fan and only missed one convention. Elmo worked for Ultra Foods and then later for Walmart for almost 10 years. He retired in 2017. Elmo was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
