Ernestina Rivas, at the age of 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her special friend, Rhonda Smith VASIA volunteer agent, on January 12, 2026. She was born on November 6, 1941, in Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Delores and Refugia Rivas; and her infant child. Ernestina was a resident of Munster, Indiana. She was a loving woman with a beautiful personality. She was a faithful Christian woman, who loved her rosaries and loved being around people. Ernestina loved her family deeply and would speak of them often. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was a very dear aunt and loved all her siblings. Ernestina will be remembered as a dear friend to all of those around her. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her.
