Gardner H. Voorheis, age 74, of Griffith, IN passed away Monday, November 22, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet; two sons: Gardner Voorheis of TX and Spencer Voorheis of Hebron, IN; three daughters, Linda (Dennis) Cochran, Tammy Voorheis Both of TX and Erin Voorheis of Griffith; six grandchildren: Demetri, Brittany, Myles, Eva, Liam and Lely; one great granddaughter, Mia; and one sister, Lou Verne Petrie of WI. Preceded in death by his parents: llewellyn and Verna Voorheis. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2010 9:30 am at Kuiper Funeral Home (two Blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, IN with Reverend Douglas Simpson, officiating. Burial Concordia Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 3:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Gardner was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hammond and was a retired truck driver.
