Joe M. Hamilton, age 74, of Griffith, IN passed away Monday, September 29, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary "Alice" (nee Rodriguez); two children: JoAnn (Randy) Gatlin of Griffith, IN and Jeff (Renee) Hamilton of Griffith, IN; eight grandchildren: Sarah (Darick) Korzeniewski, Allison (Jason) Hubbard, Mallory (fiancé Tom) Gatlin, Anthony Concialdi, Michael (Katie) Concialdi, Tyler, Cody and Breanna Hamilton; four great grandchildren: Baylee, Iyla, Keira and Kade; sister, Margel (Owen) Ash; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his daughter, Natalie Concialdi; brother, Jim Hamilton; and parents: Opal and Leonard Hamilton. Friends are invited to meet with the family Friday, October 3, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Mr. Hamilton was retired from the Iron Worker's Local #395 with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Griffith Masonic Lodge #735 F&AM who will hold services Friday, October 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home. Joe was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Orak Temple Shriner's, involved with their motor patrol for many years. He was an avid deer hunter in the U.P. of Michigan. Mr. Hamilton enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and coached a women's soccer league in Griffith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's loving memory to the Northwest Indiana Food Bank or a charity of your choice
