Joseph Peter Zatorski

Joe is the loving father to Karen (Larry) Boston, James (Hyobun) Zatorski, and Katherine (Todd) Lush; proud grandfather to Timothy (Nina) Zatorski, Michael Zatorski, and Noah and Taylor Lush; caring great grandfather to Olivia Zatorski; cherished brother to Patricia (Wayne) Vargo, Debra (Andrew) Bugajski, and the late Peter Zatorski; and brother-in-law to David (Carol) Yakish.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Patricia (nee Yakish) Zatorski and parents Matthew and Mary Zatorski.

Joe and his family were faithful members of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church.  He was born and raised in Whiting, IN.  Joe is a 1954 graduate of Bishop Noll High School.  Joe and Pat were high school sweethearts and married in 1959.  Joe worked at Inland Steel, with thirty-six years of service at the time of his retirement.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserves.  Joe was an avid golfer who golfed regularly at Scherwood Golf Course.  He was given the nickname of "Mustang Joe" because he would frequently arrive to the course in his Mustang Mach 1.  The family would like to extend a special shout-out to his granddaughter, Taylor, for all of the time, love, attention, and care that she provided to him in his later years.

The funeral service and visitation will be held at Our Lady of Consolation (now known as Our Lady Queen of Martyrs) Catholic Church, located at 8303 Taft St., Merrillville, IN, 46410.  The time and date are currently pending.  Joe's final place of rest will be Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church.
