

Mary worked in the Hammond Public School System as an Attendance Aid for twenty years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and a fan of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to spend her time making memories with her children, family and friends; as they were the joy of her life.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson; two sons, Randy Dale Johnson I and Timothy A. Johnson; parents Emmet and Inez Hayes; two brothers, Danny and Duane Hayes; two sisters, Sara Jane Hare and Loretta Wildermuth.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Leviner; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Suzi) Cassoday, Daniel (Tawnee) Leviner, Randy Dale (Arica) Johnson II, Brian (Monica) Johnson, Jessica (Jon) Naumann, Derek Johnson, Jackie Johnson; 13 great grandchildren, Ronan, Kolton, Randy Dale III, Ayden, Connor, Wyatt, Caylee, Dammon, Mateo, Enzo, Axle, Gage, and Marlie; four sisters, Grace Mauk, Peggy Harris, Bertha Jean (Bob) Davis, and Debbie (Gary) Ellch; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary had a big heart, and will be remembered as a wonderful person who really adored her family. Those who knew her, will be touched by her kindness forever.
A public visitation for Mary will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, Indiana 46322. A funeral service for her will begin at 1:00PM, with Rev. Erika D. Brooks officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 8178 Cline Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 at 2:00 PM.
