Mary Louise Silva

Mary is the loving wife to the late Jose A. Silva, Sr.; loving mother to Joe (Betty Jo) Silva, Alma (Larry) Hrdina, Abel (Cruz) Silva, Sr., Marie (Ray) Castellano, John (Marilyn) Silva, Sue Silva, and Xavier Silva, Sr.; proud grandmother of 27; great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and great-great-great grandma to numerous children; cherished sister to Helen Gonzalez and to six siblings who preceded her in death; beloved Aunt "Tia" to several.

She was a matron at Grissom Elementary School. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Mary loved to sing, dance and look amazing. She was famous in her neighborhood, constantly sitting in her front yard waving at those going by. She enjoyed showing her love for her family by cooking. Mary will be fondly remembered for her banana bread. She enjoyed vacationing and seeing family and friends in Florida. Mary's family would like to graciously thank her neighbors and friends who have helped her through years.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 1:00 - 8:00 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church of Griffith, 525 North Broad Street, Griffith, IN 46319. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Elmwood Cemetery.
