Michael John Horvath, age 60, of Schererville, Indiana formerly from the Crete Township area of Beecher, Illinois. He was a 1983 graduate of Crete Monee. Peacefully on St. Valentine's Day 2025, he passed away with his sister by his side at the William J. Riley Memorial Residence/ Hospice of the Calumet Area.
Mike learned from a very young age from his father the expertise and hard work of golf course maintenance. Together along with his father and brother, for many years, they showed the same dedication.
Michael was blessed with the ability to maintain anything mechanical and enjoyed keeping things running. He also had a true love for the outdoors; always grilling, golfing, hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycling, and snowmobiling. Michael had the honor and privilege to be a loving caregiver to his mother and during that time became a great cook!
Mike truly a soldier of God, fought a brave health battle with grace for some time until he heard the whisper of Jesus... " Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Remaining on to cherish Michael's memory is his loving sister "Missy" Melissa Horvath- Bradley and brother-in-law Mark, along with niece Irene and twin nephews, Alex and Andrew, and Godmother Cheryl (Joe) Nash.
Preceded in death by his father Nandor (2007), mother Evelyn (2022), brother Norman (2012), nephew Alton (2015) and nephew Arlen (2018).
A visitation for Michael will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm with prayers officiated by Father Alphonse Skerl, at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322.
