Mitchell Allan Thomas

Mitchell Allan Thomas, age 18, of Rensselaer, IN, formerly of Calumet Township passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015. He is survived by his parents: Daniel and Nicole Rubalcava; father, Albert (Heather) Jones; one sister, Eleyna Rubalcava; one brother, Daniel Rubalcava; one step brother, Caeden Jones; grandparents: Tom and MaryJane Straubel, Carl and Angel Evans, Charles and Karen Peek, Jose and Tencha Rubalcava and Albert and Margaret Jones; great grandparents: Margaret Peek and Alberto Magallan Sr.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Mitchell was preceded in death by his great grandparents: Mick and Kathy Thomas and Albert Peek; three uncles: Charles Peek, Larry Burk and Jose Rubalcava Jr. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home. Cremation will follow service. Friends are invited to meet with the family Friday, May 29, 2015 from 2:00p.m.- 8:00 p.m. (prayer service at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. James Utley officiating) at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Mitchell was a member of the Family Christian Center and was involved in the productions of Jesus of Nazareth, Scrooge the Musical and Choices. He was currently employed at Tysen's Family Market in DeMotte, IN and Save-A-Lot in Rensselaer, IN. Mitchell was a senior at Calumet High School, graduating in the top ten percent of his class. He loved playing X-Box and watching basketball. Mitchell would have attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, majoring in Sports Management. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
