Nicholas was a man known for his kind heart, emotional strength, and few words. He had a smile that could light up any room he set foot in. Some of his joys in life were camping, fishing, and spending time with friends just having a backyard BBQ, but his greatest joy was being a husband and father. He did it effortlessly. He did not complain, he just rolled with the punches of fatherhood and made it happen, even if it took all he had. His ability to provide and protect was astonishing to all who witnessed. He set a high standard for what a son, father, and husband should be to many. He was looked at and revered as a dad to so many, not just his six children. His absence will be felt by so many, but his memory will be rejoiced just the same.
Nicholas is preceded in death by his father Ralph Schweihs, Sr.; his sister, Deborah Fisher; his brother-in-law, Ken Rueffer; and his nephew, Kris Rueffer.
Nicholas leaves his mother, Donna Schweihs; his wife, Teresa Schweihs; his children, Samantha, Sandra (Eric), Scott, Aimee (Cory), Nicholas, Jr., and Adam (Cristina); along with 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; his five siblings, Ralph (Barb), Vickie (Paul), Velta (the late Ken), Patricia, Chuck (Susan); and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory and legacy.
There will be a viewing/memorial for Nicholas on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322.
