Nick A."Niko" Nicolaou

Nick A. 'Niko" Nicolaou, age 54, of Highland passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Giasimo Nicolaou of Highland; two brothers: Milton Nicolaou of Lowell and Mike (Elaine) Nicolaou of Schererville; five nephews: Andrew Jason (Jen) Nicolaou and Christopher Nicolaou both of Lebanon, IN, Andreas"Drew", Kosta and Alex Nicolaou of Schererville; one great- niece, Alivia Jasmine Nicolaou of Lebanon IN. Mr. Nicolaou was preceded in death by his father, Andreas. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 DIRECTLY at St. George Hellenic Orthodox Church, 528 W. 77th Ave., Schererville, IN with Father Constantine Aliferakis officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 3:00-8:00 p.m at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Mr. Nicolaou was a member of St. George Hellenic Orthodox Church of Schererville. He retired from Continental Engineering of East Chicago with 23 years of service. Nick was an avid Sox fan, a fanatical Bears fan and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday evening.
