

Richard F. Wolfe, age 75, formerly of Highland, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 in Naperville, IL. For the past four years, he resided at Independence Village in Naperville. His family would like to offer a special thanks to the doctors and staff that cared for Richard at Manor Care and Edward Hospital in Naperville. Richard was born in East Chicago on March 25, 1935 to Frank and Mary (Karaffa) Wolfe. On October 12, 1957, he was married to Marcia Breitzke. After graduating from Bishop Noll Institute, he worked at Inland Steel in the Harbor for over 43 years as a boilermaker until his retirement in 1996. Richard share his love of Northern Minnesota with his family, vacationing at a cabin on Lake Vermilion. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Parish, the 25 Year Club of Inland Steel, and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Richard is survived by his children: David (Michelle) Wolfe of Naperville, IL, Timothy (Nancy) Wolfe of North Aurora, IL and Philip (Lisa) Wolfe of Naperville, IL; granddaughters: Samantha, Rebeca, Stephanie, Danielle and Valeria; step granddaughter, Ana; step great grandson, Asher; and brother, Raymond (Sue) Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia, on August 11, 2005. There will be a visitation at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Wake service at 3:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3005 Highway Ave., Highland, IN with Rev. Edward Moszur officiating. Please meet DIRECTLY at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made in Richard's memory to Our Lady of Grace School, Highland, IN.
