Sadie Vlietstra Huitsing

Sadie Huitsing (nee Vlietstra) of Crete, Il formerly of Highland, IN, passed away March 21, 2016; she was born December 7,1917 in Ferwerd, Holland the Netherlands to Henry and Jenny Vlietstra. When she was 5 years old, their family immigrated to America and settled in Harrison and Stickney, South Dakota. She is survived by three sons Gerrit (Sandy) Huitsing, of Rockville, IN; Henry (Kathy) Huitsing of Lynwood, Il; John (Terry) Huitsing of Upland, CA; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Betty Huitsing, many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by Peter, her husband of 66 years, her two brothers Joe & Nick, her sister Thressa. Funeral services will be held Monday March 28, 2016 11:00AM at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd (two blocks south Ridge Rd) Highland, IN Rev. Mark Prestriedge officiating, burial Hope Cemetery, friends may visit with the family on Monday morning from 9:30 am until 11:00 am (time of services) at the funeral home. Sadie was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Highland, IN volunteered at Munster Community hospital for 30 years.
