Selso Gomez

Selso Gomez age 88 of Griffith, IN passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014. Mr. Gomez is survived by three sons: Lou Gomez of Wisconsin, Bernie (Doris) Gomez of Germany, and Tony (Susan) Gomez of Georgia; two daughters: Emi Gomez of Griffith and Gloria (Al) Halajcsik of St. John; eight grandchildren: Brandon, Britney, Alicia, Vicki (Fabian) Long, Michael, Nicole, Megan and Jordan; four great grandchildren: Teigan, Taryn, Belia and Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife Belia and son Selso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Church, 9640 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, officiated by Rev. Keith Virus, on Thursday, October 9 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 8 from 2-8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland (two blocks south of Ridge Road). A wake service will be held on Wednesday at 3 PM and a Rosary will be recited. Mr. Gomez was a member of St. James Church. He retired from LTV Steel after 30 years, was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the American Legion. Please visit www.kuiperfh.com
