He was the very proud father of Teryl Sawosik (Gary), Theodore Mavity (Tami), and Thomas Mavity (Tammy). He is survived by his grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Calumet City, he was the son of Ted and Julia Mavity. A United States Army Veteran, he had 40 years of service with Illinois and Indiana Bell Telephone Company, where he began in the Hammond construction department, after which he held many different positions until retirement.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 30, 2025 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Crown Point, 352 South Main Street, Crown Point, IN 46307.
