Rone Tatoa Stinnett, born on November 13, 1966, in Banaba, Kiribati, passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 59. She was a resident of Pahoa, Hawaii, and a beloved member of her community. She dedicated her career to education as a teacher's aide at the Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science, where she touched the lives of many students and colleagues.
Rone is survived by her devoted husband, George Tibau Stinnett, of Pahoa, Hawaii. She leaves behind her sons, Ernest Stinnett of Las Vegas, Nevada, William Stinnett, Babera Stinnett, and Tatoa Stinnett, all residing in Pahoa, Hawaii. Her daughters, Deanna Stinnett Marea and Aroiti Stinnett, both of Pahoa, Hawaii, also mourn her loss. Rone is remembered by her brother, Teia Terubaba, in Kiribati, as well as her three cherished grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 16-105 Orchid Land Drive, Keaau, Hawaii, 96749. The service will follow at the same location at 11 a.m.
Rone's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
