Mr. Ganes was born in Tovey, Illinois to the late Andrew and Julia Gyenes. He moved to Chattanooga after retiring in Chicago to be closer to his daughter and his family. He was a WWII US Army Veteran having served in the Philippines. He loved his family very much. Mr. Ganes enjoyed his extensive music collection and sharing it with all he met.
Surviving are his daughter, Sharon (Warren) Diegel; grandchildren, Amanda Diegel and Nicholas (Kimberly) Diegel; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Ganes; parents; and 2 sisters.
There will not be any visitation at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Rev. Wayland Stewart will officiate.
