Barbara Lorinda Roach

August 11, 1944 – May 19, 2025

Barbara Lorinda (Rue) Roach, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, on May 19, 2025. Born on August 11, 1944, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth, creativity, and humor touched everyone who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William Roach; her daughter, Kathy Sullivan Roach; and her brother, Bobby Rue. She is survived by her son, Billy Roach; her adopted daughter and granddaughter, Alley Hindmon; her grandson Christian Roach; her granddaughter Angel Hullender; and a host of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including William Atticus Hindmon, all of whom brought joy and purpose to her life.

A woman of many talents and a deep, thoughtful spirit, Barbara found joy in painting, writing poetry, and spending quiet moments in nature. Her two cats, Smokie and Grey Eagle, were her constant companions and a source of comfort and affection. A devoted Baptist, she carried her faith with grace and gentleness, sharing her love and kindness with all who crossed her path.

Barbara will be remembered for her sense of humor, her unwavering care for others, and the way she made everyone feel seen and loved. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the many hearts that now carry a piece of her with them.

Visitation will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home - North Chapel, Hixson on Saturday, May 24, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
