Betty Millard Denton, 92 years young of Hixson, went to Heaven on Saturday, February 20th, 2021. She was born on Feb. 12, 1929 in Orme, TN to the late Lawrence and Addie Millard. She was one of 11 children. Of this wonderful family, Betty is survived by her younger brother Pat (Julia Ann) Millard and sister-in-law, Margaret Millard both of Dayton.
Her school years were spent in Dayton, TN where she was a basketball star at Rhea County High. After graduation, she married the late Bill Denton and together they had two daughters, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Betty worked as a cashier until her retirement, after which she enjoyed spending time with Family and Friends, traveling, and cheering on her UT Vols and Atlanta Braves.
Betty is survived by her two loving daughters Billie (Steve) Beene and Regina (Rob) Loveridge. She was adored and admired by her five granddaughters, Ashlee (Derrick) Sims, Heather (Rick) Tate, Amy (Alexa) Loveridge, Kristina (David) Smithson, and Jennifer Loveridge; four great grandchildren, Tyler and Conner Tate, Hunter and Henry Smithson. She will live on in the wonderful shared memories of the many members of her extended family.
The family will receive friends from 12 (noon) to 2 pm on Tuesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Betty will follow at 2 pm on Tuesday at the North Chapel. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
