Carol Ann Smith

Carol was born in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of U. S. Navy Veteran, Richard Magoon and mother, Reba Magoon. She lived various places growing up, including Tacoma, Washington where she met the love of her life, Wayne Smith. They settled in Chattanooga 39 years ago. Carol and Wayne were world travelers for years, having visited 108 countries together. They were inseparable, traveling the world and spending time together caring for all the various flowers and landscaping at their home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Nancy Magoon.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Wayne Smith; daughters, Michelle Jones and her husband, Garry, of Soddy Daisy and Angela Smith of Woodstock, GA; grandson, Michael Stone of Gainesville, FL; brothers, George (Kathy) Cartẻ and Richard Magoon; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel.

Memorial Services and burial will be private.

The family would like to thank all of Carol’s doctors, staff at Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Chattanooga for all the care, concern, and compassion shown to her during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421), Hospice of Chattanooga (4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416) or the charity of the donor’s choice.
