Carolyn Casey Russell

Carolyn was born in Dalton, GA to Ralph and Ruth Casey and was a graduate of Central High School. She was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School teacher in the Special Friends Class. She was employed by University Cardiology as a cardiac nurse and has been in the nursing profession for over 35 years.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Russell, Sr. and her father, Ralph D. Casey.

She is survived by her children, Rick L. Russell, Jr., Leigh Russell (Jim) Frasso, Danny (Audrey) Russell and David (Wendy) Russell; her mother, Ruth P. Casey; grandchildren, Kasey (Jim) Bostic, Katie Frasso, Stacy (Lauren) Russell, Alex Russell, Paige Frasso, Jared Russell, Sarah Frasso, Aaron Russell and Hope Russell; five great grandchildren; two brothers, David Casey and Alan Casey and one sister, Lisa C. Haynes.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her boss and dear friend, Dr. Mitchell Mutter, her best friend for over 50 years, Sue Covington, and the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga for their love and support.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Walliser and the Rev. Mark Habermas. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Alan Casey, David Casey, Daryel Haynes, Jim Frasso, Jerry Bales, Dr. Mitchell Mutter, Stacy Russell and Jared Russell. The staff at University Cardiology will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haiti Children’s Nutritional Program, P.O. Box 3720, 1918 Union Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
