Cecil was born in Hixson, on May 26, 1939 to the late Julius and Beulah Potts. He was a 1957 graduate of Hixson High School. Cecil was a longtime employee with Ross Meehan, then Southern Centrifugal and retired from Metal Tech. He was a member of Burks United Methodist Church.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jo Ann Potts; sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Karen Potts, and Darrell and Tracey Potts; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Norman (Marsha) Potts, Judith (Ross) Shirley, and Nancy (Chris) Goodwin; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, December 17, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow at 3 pm on Saturday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Reverend Wayne Cook officiating.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
