Charles served our country in the United States Army. He retired from DuPont with over 36 years as a pipe fitter. Charles was a longtime member of Delashmitt Road Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Maybelle Mooneyham Brooks; daughter, Maybelle Elizabeth Brooks; great grandson, Justin Fox; parents, Isaac and Ruth Brooks; brothers, Wesley and Clarence Brooks.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Darlene Britton and Bonnie Green (Don); sons, Charles (Suki) and Gary (Brenda) Brooks; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Garland Brooks (Helen); sisters, Geneva Campbell and Sylvia Craig; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 31, and 11 am to 1pm on Friday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Charles will follow at 1 pm on Friday at the North Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in Charles’ name to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
