Charles retired from Brock Candy Company after 44 years of service, was a member of Middle Valley Baptist Church, was an avid fisherman, and loved being able to help coach little league baseball at Middle Valley and East Brainerd.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Helen Gill Haynes; and parents, Blondie E. Haynes and Vera Haynes.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Ruby Pauline Haynes; children, Sue Riddle and husband Marvin, Jamie Nolen and husband Jimmy and Jeff Haynes; siblings, Elizabeth Turner of Dallas, Jerry (Ann) Haynes and Kathy (Ron) Roberson; grandchildren, Amberly (Bradley) Smith, Justin (Andi) Nolen, Emily Baggett and Hannah Hawk and Zachary and Brandon Haynes; great-grandchildren, Mabry Ann, Mason, Emery, Destiny, Travis, Ainsley and Annabelle; step children, Ann Adams, Elaine (Bob) Sutthin, Randall (Chan) Petty, Edward (Kathy) Petty; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Ray Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
