Prior to retirement, Chuck lived in Canton, Ohio and worked at the Timken Company his entire career, except for military service in WW II, where he participated in the invasion and liberation of France (1944 – 1945), as well as seeing action in battles in the Rhineland, Ardennes and central Europe.
Chuck was a member of the Scottish Rite Freemasonry for 70 years, becoming a 32 degree Mason. He was a member of the First Christian Church – Disciples, Ashland Terrace.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Young Robson Sanders, his parents, Milo Sanders and Minnie Sanders, his sisters, Margaret Sanders Chatelain and June Sanders, and his nephew, James Chatelain, Sr. He is survived by his nephews, Carl (Butch) Chatelain and Jon Chatelain, and several great nieces and nephews, including James Chatelain, Jr. He is also survived by his two step sons, Brian (Sandy) Young and Randolph Young.
Chuck will be interred at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with a service there at 11:30 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. There will also be a memorial service at the St. Augustine Chapel at Alexian Village, Signal Mountain, TN at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 14
