David was born in Gunnison, Mississippi and graduated with a Masters Degree from Mississippi State. He was in the Army, taught economics at UTC, worked as a purchasing agent for TVA 30 years and retired in 1992. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
David was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Elfi Owen; sisters, Pauline Leffler, Dorothy Nell Marsh; children, Michael Owen, Peggy Kroswek, Vicki (James) Alsip; grandchildren, Joshua Kroswek, Nicole Owen, Meagan Owen and Ashley Alsip.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM on Sunday, July 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343.
Services for David will follow at 3 on Sunday at the church with Pastor Gary Schimmer officiating.
Burial will be private for the family only on Tuesday at National Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Suite 8, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
