

He was born January 18, 1921 to the late Maggie & Cicero Hawke. Duval retired in 1983 after 35 years of service from Combustion Engineering as a Supervisor of Drafting. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Soddy-Daisy, member of the Fellowship Harmony Class and a Mason. He served in the U S Army during WW II in the European Theatre as a surveyor in France, Germany and Belgium.
He was preceded in death on February 19, 2010 by his wife of 63 years Sarah Hawke, his parents and his sister Theldon Roberts.
Survivors include two loving daughters, Karen (Don) Beard, of Ooltewah and Jan (Jerry) Wilson of Hixson. Grandchildren; Eric Beard, Emmy Brannan, Jennifer Mason and Jeri Wilson and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 28, 2010 @ 11:00 am at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel Hwy 153 with the Rev. Seton Tomyn officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Bill Childers, J. R. Raulston, Arnold Stulce, Gene West, Bill Flippo and Garnett Walker serving as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends Tuesday 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday 10:00 am till 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeast TN Chapter, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
