Edward James Forbes

Edward was born in Chicago, IL and after completing High School he joined The United States Army and served in World War II; Edward was a 2nd Lieutenant Flight Instructor and flew twin engine planes

In Chicago he worked as a Sales Manager for Gifford Hill and Master Builders Inc.

Previously he lived in Lagrange IL before moving to Chattanooga in 1996.

He was an avid antique car collector and belonged to the Salt Creek, IL Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America; and the Chickamauga Region Antique Automobile Club in Tennessee.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents James Harry and Emily Caloun Forbes ; Brother Kenneth Forbes and Sister Norma Jacobson.

Edward is survived by his wife of 66 years Grace Margaret (Marge) Forbes of Chattanooga, TN; Daughters Debie (Rick) Mikel of Chattanooga, TN and Jamie (Rick) Dell of Hixson, TN; Sons Mark (Cindy) Forbes of Lawrenceville, GA and Dean (Carol) Forbes of Tarpon Springs, FL; Brother James (Nancy) Forbes of Orlando, FL; 10 Grandchildren; and 11 Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3 from 12-2, at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.

Graveside Services for Edward will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 3rd at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev Grant Blaylock officiating.

The family of Edward, would like to thank all the care givers , for all their love and support through the years.
