Effie K. Edmondson, age 91, made her final journey on December 15, 2022. Effie was born in Tunnel Hill, GA and moved to Chattanooga where she lived and raised her family. She was a member of the Ridgedale Baptist community for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Theodore and Mary Effie (Vest) Vess, her husband Harley Merritt Edmondson, Sr., her son Robert (Bobby) Edmondson as well as many brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Duncan, daughter-in-law Carla Edmondson, grandchildren Josh Edmondson, Samantha Edmondson, and Kristen Gast, five great-grandsons Blaise Edmondson, Liam and Jasper Edmondson, Wyatt and Weston Gast, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Effie was a devout Christian that loved to laugh and have a good time. She loved traveling, especially to Hawaii, and gospel music. She spent her last years surrounded by those who loved her. She will be missed immensely.
There will be a private service as she is laid to rest at the National Cemetery.
