Genia was born in DeKalb County, Alabama and had lived in the Chattanooga area for many years. She was a member of Abba’s House in Hixson. Genia was a CNA at Soddy Daisy Health Care Center. She loved animals and the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Stephens.
Genia is survived by her loving husband, Michael Sanders; sons, Christopher and Josh Sanders; mother, Sarah Rich; mother-in-law, Idean (Estle) Sanders; sister, Kathy Hopper and a host of friends, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the North Chapel.
Services for Genia will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel with Dr. Ken Duggan officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
