

She was born January 27, 1917 in Henagar, Alabama, daughter of the late Charlie G. and Mary Davis Paul. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Lowell Reed; sisters Leevena Scoggin and Nancy Lou Barclay; and brother Thomas George “TG” Paul.
Eula Mae attended Montavala College and Jacksonville State College, graduating from the University of Chattanooga. A former school teacher in Alabama and Chattanooga, she retired from the Hamilton County School system in Tennessee with 30 years experience. Eula Mae was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota Teacher’s Sorority and the Order of the Eastern Star. While a resident of Chattanooga from 1941 to 2005, she was an active member of Central Baptist Church of Hixson where she volunteered in the church library for almost 30 years and also for the weekly storytime in the pre-school classes at the church. In 2005 she moved to Waynesboro, Va.
Eula Mae loved her family, traveling, needlework, puzzles, and games. She enjoyed working with children and had many wonderful years of teaching.
Surviving are her children, Doris J. Clark (Richard) of Waynesboro, Va., Charles Alvin Reed (Charlotte) of Guild, Tenn., and James L. Reed (Nancy) of Ooltewah, Tenn.; grandchildren, Candace Davis, Wendy Scolamiero, Dickey Henley, Brad Pelfrey, Nathan Reed, Julie Reed, Valarie Sanders, Todd Henley, and Race Clark; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, Hwy. 153, Hixson, Tennessee at 1:30 P.M. Prior to the service the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be private at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson.
The family expresses its appreciation to the staff at The Legacy of North Augusta, particularly the 2nd floor nurses, the Hospice of the Shenandoah, and the many friends who visited her during her 10 years in the Waynesboro/Staunton area.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
