Gertrude (Trudy) Arndt, 87, of Ringgold, GA, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024.
Her contagious spirit of life and her outgoing nature will be truly missed as she never met a stranger and spread love to everyone she met.
Trudy was born in Tieflan, Ukraine and immigrated to Milwaukee, WI with her family after WW2. Trudy met her husband, Gunther, in Milwaukee. After they were married Gunther’s work took them to Texas, back to Wisconsin, then Pennsylvania before retiring in Ringgold, GA. Trudy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the great-grandchildren. Trudy enjoyed traveling. Trudy and Gunther traveled all over North America, Europe, Africa and took many ocean and river cruises. Trudy enjoyed taking pictures of her travels, reading books, gardening, cross stitching, and needlepointing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johannes and Irma Heer, her sister Lori Bushweiler, and brothers Walter and Werner Heer, and her nephew Larry Bushweiler.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gunther Arndt; her son, Gerald Arndt and his wife, Janna, her grandchildren, Chase Arndt and his wife, Audrey, and Brent Arndt, her greatgrandchildren, Oliver, Hal and Josie Arndt, and nephew Lee Bushweiler and his wife, Michelle.
There will be an intimate chapel service for family and close friends only.
