Mr. Rominger was born and raised in Chattanooga. He attended Lakeview High School and worked at Olan Mills as a Computer Systems Analyst after retiring from over 20 years of service with the US Air Force. As an avid outdoorsman and athlete, he was the consummate competitor in all things. His hobbies ranged from being a private pilot/instructor to woodworking and tying custom fishing rods. He excelled at many sports to include pitching 3 consecutive no-hitters in fast-pitch softball, bowling, fishing, and hitting a hole-in-one in golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Velma Rominger.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Gretchen Rominger; children, Terri (Gregg) Renfro, Eric (Sheri) Rominger and Dusty (Suzanne) Rominger; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Boyd, Linda Langston; brother, Richard (Mary) Rominger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the funeral home.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 1 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 to join in procession to the cemetery for a 2 PM Graveside Service at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
