Janice Pierce

She was born to Kenneth and Margaret Gamble in Chattanooga on February 1, 1954. Janice was a graduate of UTC and went on to intern and work full time for TVA. After retirement from TVA, she continued her working career as a carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 10 years before retiring completely. Even though she enjoyed both of her careers, her true joy came from raising her sons and grandchildren. Janice also enjoyed playing tennis, going to the beach, and believed pineapple belonged in every dish.

Janice is preceded in death by her father, Charles Kenneth Gamble and nephew, Andrew Gamble.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James Pierce; sons, Wesley Pierce and Kevin (Kara) Pierce; grandchildren, Logan Pierce, Maddox Pierce, Hudson Souther, Owen Souther, and Enzo Pierce; mother, Margaret Gamble; brother, Brent (Gayle) Gamble; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Janice will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, TN 37343. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. The family will then proceed to McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood, TN following the service.
