He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Dorothy L. Bowman and brother, Mickey E. Bowman.
A life long resident of Hamilton County, Jerry graduated from Red Bank High School in 1960 and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by Bell South/AT&T for 47 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Patti Samples Bowman, sister, Judy A. (George) Wilkinson, daughters, Regina Forgey of Chattanooga, Melissa Ramey of Athens; step-children, Lisa (Tim) Remy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jeff (Carolyn) White, and Gina (Larry) Davis; three grandchildren and other extended family.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 20, with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 20 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Hoyt Samples officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
