I am so sorry for your loss. JP was a great friend to me.

I just found out about JP. I’m so sorry.  He was the most thoughtful and kind person I have ever known. We were friends in the 80s and early90s. I moved away and we lost touch. My prayers for you and your family and friends as well as his. May God bless and keep you.

Jerry was 1 of the first people that I met in my sophomore year at City High School. He made me feel comfortable and welcome. I will continue to remember my time with him.

I just received word of Jerry's passing and am saddened.  Jerry and I were fraternity brothers at UT.  I remember him as always friendly, and constantly smiling.  He was an all around good guy.  I'm sorry we lost touch after college.  My condolences to the family. Phi Phi K A.

I'm so sorry for your loss Carolyn. JP and I have a long history. He is one of my most chariest and oldest friends. We  pledged Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity together at the University of Tennessee in 1969. Jerry was studying Accounting and I in Pre-dentistry. We were room mates at the fraternity house where we developed an interest in tropical fish! We both had aquariums, as you know, JP had a big love for all creatures big and small. While at UT Jerry owned a vintage Chevy Impala Convertible  and seemingly knew every girl from Chattanooga's City High School where he graduated as senior class president in 1969. Through JP I always was able to get a date for football games and parties at UT. I have so many great memories of those days. I would sometimes come to Chattanooga on weekends with JP staying with his family. JP liked to make Silver Dollar Pancakes for breakfast and we would spend the day knocking around "his town" visiting friends. After I finished schooling I moved to Chattanooga in 1975 and was fortunate to get reacquainted with my dear friend JP. Though we were never room mates again he remained a loyal friend and confidant I will so miss him. He was always up beat lifting our spirits through tough times. I will miss him greatly, his bold generosity, open honesty, love of family, and his "big tent" heart.

You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We are so sorry for your loss. Please accept our sincere condolences. 

JP was an incredible man. He was part of our Hampton family, and we will all miss him dearly. Hampton was JP’s second home. He was our food critic. Everyone knew JP loved his bacon, and that his oatmeal had to have plenty of butter. He always made the gravy at Hampton, because he needed to make sure there was enough pepper in it. 

JP also loved Indian food, and would always compliment me. In fact, his last words to me was “I have ran out of the rice crispy snacks; hint hint.” 

We have so many fond memories, and will always remember the good times as well as all the lessons he has taught us. You will always remain close to our hearts. Rest In peace JP.

Carolyn and Rick,  I send prayers of love and hugs for comfort as you grieve Jerry’s passing.  He was my mainstay all through high school and I was his “Little Deb.”  He was a friend to everyone he knew. Among other honors, he was president of the Lions Club. Our senior year was a Lions Club special memory for me. He loved to dance. During college, when I came home, we would go dancing at wherever was Jerry’s current favorite place.  He will be missed. Rest In Peace dear Jerry. 

My deepest condolences to your family. Jerry and I would always remember each other's birthday since we were born 24 days apart. During school he was always friendly and kind, always had a smile. He will be missed, but I know we will meet again. Deborah Kelly City of class of 69.
