Jerry Austin Stokes

Jerry was born in Jasper, Tennessee to the late Walter and Minerva Goff Stokes. He was a graduate of Kirkman High School. Jerry retired from Combustion Engineering with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Lakeway Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ray Stokes and an infant daughter, Lynette.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Joy Stokes; daughters, Darlene Stokes, Annette Crisp and Marcia (Sparky) Leamon; son, Christopher (Cindy) Quinn; grandchildren; Taylor (Johnathan) Rue, Corey Quinn, Patrick Quinn, Crystal (Andall) Burke, Heather (Evan) Hutcheson and Elizabeth Morris; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Opal Faye Chitty, Margarette Holmes and Bernice Dean; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 pm on Sunday, December 29, and 1 to 3 pm on Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Services for Jerry will follow at 3 pm on Monday at the North Chapel with Pastor Steve Moore officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
