He was born in Miami, FL to the late William H. Beene and Anna Hixson Beene. John was a former employee with Hamilton County and Hixson Utility District. He was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church.
John was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Jones, William H. Beene, Jr., Patsy Wolfe, Shirley Moore and Norma Trotter.
Survivors include his former wife, Carolyn Beene and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that make memorial contributions be made to the McKamey Animal Center, 4500 North Access Road, Chattanooga, TN 37415 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
