John Purnall “Jack” Hudson, age 82 of Chattanooga passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 in a local hospital. He was born January 11, 1928 in Ridgeland, South Carolina to the late Clifton and Maude Hix Hudson.
Mr. Hudson was retired from DuPont after more than 30 years of service and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later as an Army Recruiter.
He was a loving husband to his wife of 56 years, Orpha Bandy Hudson, a loving father to his daughters, Donna Sue (Ken) Chase of Hixson and Gail (Rick Salese) Boyce of Roswell, Georgia, and a loving grandfather to Brian (Julie) Chase, Allison Chase, Mark Boyce, and Lisa Boyce. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Hudson of Nashville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the North Chapel with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
