I think this fits Joy very well.  During the years after GPS, I was not fortunate to see Joy many times - once in San Francisco, a few times in Chattanooga and once my husband and I  spent the night with her when there for a reunion.  She always spoke of her children with a great deal of pride and I know that would be the same for her grandchildren.  Your family is blessed to have had Joy as a mother and grandmother.  
At GPS she was one of my very best  friends.  I am sure she had many friends because everyone liked her.  She was a bundle of energy and intelligence sparkling with talent and creativity.  All this is in a girl of compassion and thoughtfulness.
She will be alive in memories for many!

What sweet and loving memories my husband  and I will always have of such a precious person as Joy.  She was truly a blessing to know and we will miss her.  Seeing her swing that huge yellow light bulb with EBP in large letters at Race for the Cure events to eating Chinese food  are just two of the numerous fun times we shared. If there ever was an angel on earth, it was Joy Mercado. I worked with Joy for several years at Chattanooga City Court and just to see her face, and hear her voice was always so calming to me.  There is no doubt where she is now....in the arms of JESUS.  I thank GOD for bringing her into my life and I will always cherish her friendship and her Christian stewardship.

I was blessed to know Joy. I worked with her in the Chattanooga City Court. She was a very pleasant person and brightened my days. She was always happy when speaking about her children. Joy lived up to her name and spread joy to anyone who was fortunate enough to know her. May God give all of her loved ones peace and comfort.

I have fond memories of Aunt  Joy. She was soft spoken and sweet. She always had a smile on her face. Every time I saw her she was truly interested in what was going on in my life. That always made me feel special. She always put others first, a true angel. We have lost a very special lady on this earth, but she will be an angel looking over and guiding her loved ones.

Joy was indeed a joy to work with.  I really enjoyed her wit, wisdom and encouragement while she was at EPB.  I was so sad to hear of her passing.  Our prayers are with the family, she spoke of her faith often and by her own testamony, I know she has now seen the face of God.
