June H.Zunker, 90 of Hixson,TN passed away on August 8, 2013 as a result of injuries in an automobile accident. Born on April 4, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI. June and her husband Bill moved to Chattanooga in 1980 and soon developed lifelong friendships. An accomplish sportswomen throughout her life, June enjoyed league bowling at Holiday Bowl and was a member of Valleybrook Women's Golf Association. June was an avid bridge player .
As a daughter of a boxer and survivor of the depression June was known for her sassy and spunky nature with laughter and a smile.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, William F. Zunker Jr. and son William F. Zunker III. Survived by her daughter Carolyn (Py), Orlando Fl sons Robert, Port Washington,WI, Richard, Sebastopol, CA,and David, Victoria, British Columbia, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2013 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
