Kitty Kirby Bayman went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2026 after a years-long battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Evelyn Kirby; her brother, Joseph Kirby (Becky); and her husband, Nick Bayman. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Soules (Jason) and Angela Dahrling (Daniel Babb), and grandsons Ethan and Reece Babb.
A true Chattanooga native, she was a graduate of both GPS and UTC. She grew up on the waters of Lake Chickamauga and was an avid boater with longtime ties to the Chattanooga Yacht Club. In her free time over the years she enjoyed traveling and volunteering, especially with the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, and her church (First Centenary United Methodist).
Self-assured and determined, there was nothing that she couldn’t do or teach herself to do. She had a heart of gold and would go out of her way to help both those she loved and a total stranger with the same empathy and compassion. She was devoted to her family and her faith, and lived a life of gratitude for His Grace.
Those who loved her will miss her smile that could light up any room, her laugh that could ease any worry, and her embrace that could soothe any pain.
There will be a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or First Centenary United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson. Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com
