Larry Copeland

Larry E. Copeland, Jr. 50, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015

Larry was a Criminal Attorney working in Memphis, Tennessee at the time of his death. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1982, University of Tennessee of Chattanooga in 1990 and University of Memphis Law School in 1997. He was a member of Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Larry was an Instructor for the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Trial College. He was a Law student Liaison with University of Memphis Law School. Larry served with the United Sates Marine Corp Reserves.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Larry Copeland Sr.,; maternal grandfather William Booth; paternal grandparents Gene and Marie Copeland; niece Jessica Backer

Larry is survived by his mother Patricia Copeland of Soddy Daisy , TN; two sons Chase Copeland of Chattanooga TN and Trey Copeland of Memphis, TN; daughter Whitney Jacks of Orlando, FL; brother Eddy Copeland of Atlanta, GA; two sisters Stephanie ( Mark) Daniel of Ooltewah, TN and Jennifer ( Robert) Backer of Chattanooga, TN; maternal grandmother Elizabeth Booth of Soddy Daisy, TN; one nephew and several nieces.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 4-8 at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:30 on Friday, March 27 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan and Father Charlie Burton officiating

Interment will follow to Chattanooga National Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Larry’s name to St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37415 or to - Tuition Assistance Fund for Catholic Schools, Diocese of Knoxville, 805 North Shore Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919 or to Masses offered at St. Jude Catholic Church for the repose of Larry’s Soul.
