He was a faithful member of Westwood Baptist Church, where he was a gatekeeper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Myers Stokes; parents, Floyd T. and Sallie Stokes; four sisters, Elizabeth Minton, Velma Marr, Dale Ray, and Joann Denham; and two brothers, Floyd T. Stokes and Douglas Stokes.
He is survived by his daughter, Priscilla (Randy) Rainwater; two sons, Steven Myers and Tracy Myers; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchildren, a brother, Herbert (Faye) Stokes; two sisters, Nancy (David) Malone, and Tina Ellis; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 Thursday, April 21, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Randy Rainwater officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 Thursday at the funeral home.
