Mr. Lawrence C. Varner, 85, of Spring City, passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Lawrence was born in Hixson, TN on June 14, 1934 to the late Lawrence W. and Flora Varner. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Munger Varner; sisters, Dorothy Crutcher and Lena Clayton; and brother, Paul Varner.
Survivors include son, David Varner (Linda); son, Allen Varner (Tonya); grandchildren, Jason Varner (Ruthie), Kayla Rhymer (Kevin), Matt Varner (Caitlin), Clay Varner, and Allyson Varner; great grandchildren, Ethan Rhymer, Teagan Varner, Kanon Varner, and Payten Varner; and sister, Jewel Jordan.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 30th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel Monday at 7:00 pm with Rev. William Beasley officiating. There will be a committal service with military honors on Tuesday, October 1st at 9:45 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
