Mary Louise Mansfield, age 86, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 in a local health care facility. She was born October 15, 1926 in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Elmer Earl & Irene Gladys Logan.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a 1943 graduate of Rhea County High School.
Mrs. Mansfield worked at Erlanger Medical Center and D. M. Stewart as a PBX Operator. For many years, she and her late husband were house parents for students at Tennessee Temple University where she had also worked in the business office.
Her husband, Bill Mack Mansfield, Sr., granddaughter, Leslie Whitaker, and several siblings preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Bill M. (Mary) Mansfield, Jr. of Cleveland; Allen W. (Linda) Mansfield of Soddy Daisy; Donna L. (Roger) Ayers of Red Bank; 5 grandchildren, Patrick (Britney) Mansfield, Karen (Michael) Dunnigan, Dr. Jennifer L. Ayers, Jason Ayers, and Aaron (Andra) Ayers; one great-granddaughter, Haley Mansfield; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the North Chapel with Rev. Dwight Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
