Peggy was born on August 30, 1939, in Jackson, Mississippi to Jeanette and James Morring. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1963 with a B.S. in Home Economics and a Master's in Child Development where she met her future husband of 50 years. On May 26, 1963, Peggy married Gildardo Carmona.
Peggy, an accomplished teacher, homemaker, seamstress, and cook will be remembered for her graciousness, kind and cheerful nature and wonderfully infectious laugh. An avid reader, Peggy also loved music, the arts and nature - especially the mountains of Tennessee and Mexico. She had a love for all things good, pure and sweet and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
One of Peggy's greatest joys was her 63-year membership in Red Bank United Methodist Church. During the 26 years that she and her husband and children lived in Monterrey, Mexico, they were also faithful members of the Union Church of Monterrey.
Cherishing her memory are husband Gildardo (Gil); father, James Morring; son David, his wife Kelly and their daughter Tyler; son Daniel, his wife Holly and their daughter Wren; and brother, David Morring and his daughter Marika.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Monday in the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, and from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday in Red Bank United Methodist Church.
