Mary Lou was a lifelong resident of the Hixson area. She was retired from Fletcher Bright Company with 41 years of service. Mary Lou was an active member of St. Elmo Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday School and currently a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Barnes and six siblings.
She is survived by her son, Donald Barnes and wife Diane; granddaughters, Susan Lemons and husband, James and Karen Henry; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Mohrman of Florissant, MO; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 1 PM on Monday at the North Chapel.
Services for Mary Lou will be held at 1 PM on Monday at the North Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
