Mary Jane May

Janie came into this world on November 26, 1935 and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of Hixson, TN.

Janie and husband (Buddy) were long time members of Red Bank Baptist Church where both sang in the choir. Janie was extremely proud to be a retiree of Blue Cross Blue Shield where she held various high level administrative positions.

Janie and Buddy enjoyed traveling and singing with The PrimeTimers choir and their many friends and fellow church members over the years. Janie had a heart for animals, especially her beloved poodle Bruiser.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lottie and Coy Blaylock; brothers Ralph, Clyde, Johnny and Paul Blaylock. Janie is also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Buddy" May.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her Caregiver/Nephew Ed Blaylock and his wife Nancy along with several other nieces and nephews.

Ed and Nancy would like to express their appreciation to Hearth Hospice and the caregivers at Solomon's House in Red Bank for their love and compassion over the last few months.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to make a contribution in Janie's name to your favorite charity.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 12:00 pm-2:30 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 pm with Sam McNabb officiating. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
