Matthew “Matt” was born on December 29, 1982. He graduated from East Ridge High School in 2001.
Matt was in the marching band and loved playing the saxophone. He attended Chattanooga State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he graduated with a degree in Psychology/Criminal Justice. He worked in the security field and later in accounting.
Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Billie Bennett, of Birmingham, AL; and Wesley and Uleta Parker, of Chattanooga, TN.
He is survived by his father, David Bennett; mother, and step-father, Deborah and John Case; sister, and brother-in-law, Laura and David Brooks; nieces, Hannah, Abigail, and Brinley; and brother, James William “Jeb” Bennett. Matt is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Private graveside service will be held for Matt in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, in Hixson, TN.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
